Yoga Nidra - What does it mean?

Yoga = To unite or bring together, interconnectedness, the state of oneness. 

Nidra = Sleep, Deep Sleep, Changing State of Consciousness. 

Yoga Nidra = a State of Pure Awareness in the Deepest State of Relaxation/Sleep.

In this new series, Sonja Martin  CYT 600 and Certified Yoga Nidra instructor will guide a gentle one hour class. We will do some light stretching , drop into a deep guided state of rest and then emerge slowly. This simple, accessible class is profound for many experienced and brand new practitioners. 

Yoga Nidra relaxes the practitioner more than other relaxation techniques. Neuropsychology has revealed that yogic sleep has a positive effect on our brain, body and the entire physiology and psychology. It calms the thoughts and improves concentration. It also improves memory and learning ability. 

Bring your own mat, pre - screened at the door for Covid. 

Mats will be spaced apart. 

 

This class runs Tuesday evenings September 7th to  October 5th , 7:30 to 8:30 pm for 6 weeks. Cost is $84.99
