            4 Tips on Easing Through the Back-to-School Transition

The back-to-school season is one of the most exciting, yet stressful times of year. Here are a few tips on how to support your little ones while maintaining your own sanity throughout this busy time.

1.) Make a short playlist with everyone's favorite tunes on it to play while you are getting ready in the morning.

2.) Provide two choices at breakfast, and offer them to your babes. Allowing them to be in control of something before they leave the house will feel empowering before a day of excitement and chaos. 

3.) Plan a fun activity to do or book to read when everyone gets home, and set it out on the counter before you leave for the day. Knowing that something fun is waiting for them when they get home will help them look forward.

4.) Create a fun mantra together. For example, it can be as simple as, "I am brave", or "I am funny". And make it a morning ritual. Remind them of this mantra when they get home at night, and say it before bed, too!

Some days it might seem like you can't do anything right. In those moments, take a deep breath and realize that as long as you're parenting with good intent, you are doing a great job! Eventually, these transitions will become a lot easier.
